Update Cranford Youth Lacrosse Season

To Our Cranford Lacrosse Community:

I sincerely hope that all of you and your family members are safe and healthy.

Although we were holding out in hopes of salvaging a few weeks of lacrosse, we are unfortunately forced to officially end this year's season. These are uncharted times for all of us. I would like to thank you for your patience as we tried to navigate our options in the hopes of being able to play in some way this season.

We did have a lot of positive and exciting events for this season:

- Increase of player registration of 20% over 2019 season

- Trilogy MetLife 7v7 Lacrosse Event at Metlife Stadium (1st time attending)

- Continued Boys and Girls Training

- Numerous Local Restaurant Night out fundraising

- End of Season Parent Night Out (1st Annual)

- 3rd Annual Boys Tournament/2nd Annual Girls Tournament

- Increased Preseason Coach Training

- Multiple Boys/Girls Tournaments

Though the events above have been canceled, we have continued with the following:

- 2020 Graduating Senior Scholarships

- 2020 Calendar Raffle Tickets

- Field Improvements including new storage shed at Sherman Park

We are looking forward to expanding all our programs and events into the 2021 season.

Please encourage your daughters/sons to continue to work on their skills in the off-season. Although lacrosse is a team sport, many skills needed to play the game are acquired by repetition and can be performed and perfected on your own. Hopefully in the near term, conditions will get back to some kind of normalcy and the players can get back to practicing on the field. Please keep in mind that all town fields are currently closed and cannot be used. We hope these restrictions will be lifted soon.

We would like to wish our 8th grade players all the best as they move on to the HS and we look forward to watching you play at this new level. We hope you will come back to volunteer at our tournaments and help with the LAX Kids program. To you, our 8th grade parents, thank you for all the support you have given us throughout your years with the club. We hope to see you next year at our Lacrosse Family Dinner – watch for details later this year with a new date. Finally, to our 8th grade coaches – you have given so much so much of yourselves to our club and to our players and we are forever grateful. Please know that you have made a difference in these players and for the good of the sport we all love.

Refunds for the 2020 Season

We will be providing refunds for unused registrations for the 2020 season. We ask everyone to please be patient as the refund process is not a simple one. Our Treasurer Ellen Goodlander has been working diligently navigating the process and over the next couple of weeks all refunds should be complete.

Some notes below:

- Be advised that some refunds will be completed in a two part process, one part with a credit card refund AND one part with a check. NOTE: Checks will come directly from our bank and may appear like junk mail so please look out for it.

- If you have a 5th-8th grade girl OR 3rd-8th grade boy, $50 will be deducted from your refund for this year’s Calendar Raffle. Please know that the funds raised by having the Calendar Raffle helps to enable the CLC to offer our HS graduates scholarships every year.

In closing, I would like to thank all of our Cranford Lacrosse community for their continued support of our club.  Every year our board has set goals for the upcoming and future seasons.  Through the support of the Cranford players, parents, guardians and community, we are continuing to meet our milestones to accomplish those goals. While this season is no longer possible I am looking forward to an exciting 2021 lacrosse season.

I wish the season did not have to end in this way, but as we have always said, the health and safety of our players and lacrosse family would come first. Thank you again for your patience and please continue to stay safe. Looking forward to the day that we can see you all on the sideline again.

If anyone has any concerns, comments, questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me.

Cranford Lacrosse Club Calendar Raffle

The calendar raffle began three years ago as a way to help fund high school scholarships, purchase equipment for our teams, pay for professional training sessions, as well as other enhancements to improve our program.  Last year we were able to increase our scholarship awards to 7 CHS seniors instead of our usual 4 recipients.  The success of our raffle as well as our Cranford boys and girl’s tournaments were instrumental in our ability to do this.  With so many unknown factors to the rest of this school year we want to make sure we are able to recognize our class of 2020 as we have in prior years.

Click here weekly for the winning numbers

Please note checks will be sent directly to winners!

We appreciate your support.
